I have a 220 circuit that has a female wall plug in with the two hot slots on a slant and the ground as an L shaped slot. The dryer cord has the same shaped hot prongs but has a single flat blae.
Are there code restrictions for the amperage that are refleted in the shape of the wall socket? How about a page with pictures or diagrams of the different types and the amperage for each?

Electrical fires are extremely common, and can spread very quickly, resulting in walls that are destroyed within minutes.
These types of fire usually happen because the wires and circuits are either overloaded or faulty.
The wiring and circuits used are outdated or, most common with home repairs, the wires and circuits are improperly installed.
Consider, too, that improper wiring can easily damage your major home appliances.
Do you really want to replace your fridge because you messed up on the <a href="http://www.rcelectricalservices.net/?page_id=6" rel="nofollow">wiring</a>? Probably not!

Hey, I have found this most helpful. I was wondering if any thing was added to the code book about fire caulking and also if receptacles are allowed to be higher than the standard hieght in any application.

I enjoyed reading through your website very much and found it exceptionally helpful. In fact, I read and studied over all of your articles except for the ceiling fan installation notes that I pretty much had covered. Your simple solution to replacing old style two wire outlets with new two wire w/ground outlets was especially helpful. I've been perplexed on how to solve this problem; indeed, I have several cracked (obviously dangerous) old outlets that I didn't know how to safely replace. Our electrical inspector didn't suggest this solution, so I suspect that it's not quite up to local code, but it is certainly safer than retaining the old, damaged outlets. Thanks very much for the free information. No need to reply to my comments; I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for providing this free information and for fulfilling the original promise of the www before everything became over commercialized. Cheers, Michael
